GRYPHON Knife
This is a combat knife developed in 2010 on the initiative of the command and soldiers of the 41st Mechanized Battalion in Žatec. The design and name of the knife were chosen based on the unit's requirements and traditions. The knife's development was signed not only by its author, Major Roman Hippík, but also by the battalion soldiers who thoroughly tested the knife before its introduction to the unit. Its construction allows for the widest possible use both in work and in close combat.
The blade is made of Böhler N690 stainless steel, which is one of the notable knife steels with excellent sharpness and resistance to damage and corrosion. The guaranteed hardness is 58-60 HRc. The blade is engraved with the text MARCH OR DIE.
The handle consists of leather rings.

By 2020, a total of 50 GRYPHON knives were produced, some of which bear the designation of specialization - sniper. The knife became one of the symbols of the 41st Mechanized Battalion alongside the Falco knives (102nd Mechanized Brigade) and Charon (43rd Airborne Battalion), another unit knife in the Army of the Czech Republic.
Use of the knife is limited only to regular members of the 41st Mechanized Battalion or those to whom the battalion command decides to award the knife. Each knife is made with a high degree of manual work and undergoes individual inspection.
Until 2019, the knife was manufactured by Maďarič. Since 2020, the complete production of the knife has been ensured by Mikov s.r.o. from Mikulášovice. The knife is not intended for the general public.
